Pathways At Your Service – Crisis and Residential Recovery Unit (CRRU) West

Crisis and Residential Recovery Unit (CRRU)-West is a combination of programs located at 209 Davis Road in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. CRRU-West provides a 28-day American Society of
Addiction Medicine (ASAM) 3.5 Level of Care (LOC) treatment for substance use disorders (SUD), and ASAM 3.1 LOC treatment for SUD. Crisis stabilization services can occur if the facility is housing less than 16 consumers. Program staff also respond as Mobile Crisis Therapists. Pathways CRRU-West is a 25-bed facility. The program allows for up to 25 participants to receive up to 60 days of treatment
based on the ASAM level of care upon entry.

Residential Recovery 3.5 – 28 day maximum at this LOC

Residential recovery services provide voluntary treatment that includes 24-hour observation, self-administration of medication (if appropriate), ongoing assessment/evaluation, individual, group, educational services, self-help groups, short-term treatment, and aftercare planning. The program provides 12 hours of structured daily activity each day from 7 am to 7 pm. The program includes a minimum of 2.25 to 3 hours of clinical work with a licensed professional daily. The program also allows for integrated mental health therapy throughout the program and often includes the interventions of an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). Medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) is allowed in multiple forms and is facilitated to the Pathways MOUD standard. Primary care is often facilitated early in the program along with the management and monitoring of withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal from all substances may be possible based on several factors and a careful review of referral.

Residential Recovery 3.1 – 28 to 35 days at this LOC
The 3.1 program offers a reduction in the frequency of clinical therapy to a minimum of 5 clinical hours per week while increasing emphasis on the implementation of recovery skills. This implementation of skills may focus on family, vocation, daily living, support group engagement, etc. Clients continue to participate in 12 hours of daily structured activity and remain on site while addressing family concerns, mental health concerns, vocational needs, and housing needs. The program focuses on the individual growth necessary to find success in ongoing care routes such as Partial Hospitalization Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, and Outpatient services. The program engages heavily in the use of Primary Care and MOUD services in order to provide a holistic view of recovery.
